CREATION STORY

My story began in 2003 while living in Washington, D.C., and attending the Arlington Metaphysical Chapel in Arlington, Virginia. I knew the first time I walked into this small church that I had finally discovered my spiritual tribe. I was forty-two years old.

I joined the Arlington Metaphysical Chapel in the fall of 2004 and attended many services, classes, and lectures about metaphysics. Around the same time, the National Museum of the American Indian opened its doors in Washington, D.C..

After leaving my job and spending the winter of 2004/2005 in West Palm Beach, Florida, I returned to Washington, DC, and the Arlington Metaphysical Chapel in the spring of 2005.  During my return, I consulted with a metaphysical practitioner to see if moving to Portland, Oregon was a good choice. Everything checked out during the consultation and I set out for Portland a few weeks later.

Before leaving DC, however, I visited the National Museum of the American Indian. This visit turned out to be very inspirational. While browsing the gift shop I was prompted to buy a handmade beaded necklace and a music CD titled, Sacred Spirit: Chants and Dances of the Native Americans

I hung the necklace from my vehicle’s rearview mirror, put the CD in my CD player, said a prayer, and headed west. I asked the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island to guide and protect me on my journey across their land.

A few nights later I arrived in Rapid City, South Dakota, close to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. During my stop in Rapid City, I witnessed for the very first time the northern lights, or what is known as the aurora borealis.

It was the night of May 15, 2005.  I looked at the night sky and noticed a huge vortex directly overhead. It looked as though it was trying to swallow me whole. This was the sign I had been waiting for.  I knew then that the choice to move to Oregon was right.  (Photo courtesy of Alan Seawell. Click here. Alan describes perfectly what everyone witnessed that night.)

More affirmations appeared in the days that followed.  I even saw my very first mountain lion in Yellowstone National Park.

I arrived in Portland, Oregon several days later. My solo trip across Turtle Island had been nothing less than magical.

While living in Portland over the next three years I learned to read the Voyager Tarot and attended my first sweat lodge with a medicine man from the Klamath tribe in southern Oregon. His name was, Calvin.

Upon meeting Calvin he sat beside me and began singing a song in his native tongue, which other people attending the sweat lodge had never seen him do before.  I wasn’t exactly sure what it meant but I was grateful to him for his medicine. Calvin then gifted me a hawk feather wrapped in red yarn and blanketed in a red cloth.

I spent the next few years attending sweats, biking, and exploring the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. It was the most beautiful place that I had ever lived.

My next calling was a move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2008. Upon my arrival, I visited Taos, New Mexico, and had the opportunity to share a meal with a Taos Pueblo family in their Pueblo home.  This too was a great privilege for me.

I moved to Denver, Colorado a few months later where I attended several drumming circles, and additional classes on metaphysics, and embarked on an impromptu trip to the American Southwest. This was when I visited Second Mesa, Arizona, and the Hopi Indian Reservation for the very first time. A large part of me felt as though I had returned home.

I was so overcome with emotions after that visit I returned to my hotel room, sat on the edge of the bed, and cried my eyes out.  My reaction was completely unexpected.

I moved back to Portland, Oregon in the spring of 2009, quit my job in November of that year, and hit the road again a few months later, in February 2010. I embarked on a 72-day journey across the country that I called, 72 Days of God.  This adventure was tied to Kabbalah’s The 72 Names of God meditation cards and was about letting go, and trusting in God that everything would be taken care of. Since it was the middle of winter I took the most southern route possible.

I arrived in my hometown, Burlington, NC, that spring. I spent a month with my family and continued my adventure by returning to Portland, Oregon later that summer. I spent the summer camping in my truck and parked overnight in a Walmart parking lot.

During this time a friend gifted me two past-life regressions from Marie Friend, author of Dreams: Mirrors of Your Soul. (Book and biology available on Amazon.)

My first past-life regression with Marie revealed that I was an actor on the Shakespearean Stage and performed for Queen Elizabeth 1 between 1589 and the early 1600s. The second past-life regression revealed that I was one of the three wise men mentioned in the Hebrew Bible in a much earlier lifetime.

I found both sessions to be very inspirational and enlightening. Realizing that this information could not be proven nor disproven, I received it without judgment and considered it part of my spiritual journey.

As fate would have it I ended up in Phoenix, Arizona in the autumn of 2010 and lived with a man from Mexico who was 90% Native American.  His father’s ancestors were Indigenous North Americans from Mexico and his mother’s ancestors were from Spain.

I lived with him on and off for the next two years. We attended The Logos Center, studied Pranic Healing® under Master Stephen Co, and volunteered every Thursday night for the Logo’s Pranic Healing® clinic. We performed many healings during our time at The Logos Center.

I left Phoenix in December 2011 to spend Christmas with my family in North Carolina and remained there for four months. In March of 2012, my uncle gifted me an Astro cargo van. My sister and I transformed the cargo van into a small camper and before I knew it I was on another adventure titled, 72 Days of Angels and The Brotherhood of Light.
